Mariah Carey at Universal: The emancipation of Mimi's legs

Who knew that Mariah Carey could pull off hotpants?

Not literally, obviously.

Here was Mimi yesterday, at a 'meet and greet' autograph session at Universal Studios, where she, well, met and gret greeted fans and signed copies of her new album, the modestly entitled E=MC2.

She looks great in hotpants, it has to be said - although ever so slightly awkward. Could that possibly be because, according to fan reports on PerezHilton.com, she arrived two hours late and disappeared before she'd met and gret greeted poor devoted fans who had been waiting there for eight hours?

Possibly. Or it could be that she's just getting used to standing outside in hotpants.
