Everyone loves a good gossip, but the whole Cherylgate business just makes us sad. She's beautiful, successful, talented and devoted to her husband... and what did he do? Pick up a dodgy bird (or two) and try to buy her silence.

While Cheryl has agreed to give Ashley another chance, it seems like he might be having second thoughts after he was spotted at a petrol station without his wedding ring.

We can only hope that the stress and fear of losing the Girls Aloud lovely has made him shed a few pounds and he's having his wedding band made smaller.

One thing Ash hasn't lost in the midst of this emotional mayhem is his dress sense. Those trainers look brand spanking new (but not jump-all-over-them new), his jeans are a perfect fit and overall we reckon his clobber is just right for a Saturday afternoon fill-up-your-tank errand.

Ashley might have promised a second honeymoon, a bigger house and daily bouquets to the wife... but maybe he should add some Matthew Williamson Roman sandals and a Ralph Lauren tea dress to make sure he really seals the deal?
