Sharon Stone at the DIC Diamond Dinner: frightful or fabulous?

What's going on?

First, Nicole Kidman wears a weird dress but looks fabulous - and now Sharon Stone.

By rights, Sharon should look completely frightful in this strange get-up, which is part 1920s flapper, part brown zebra.

But I think she looks terrific.

And yet I have absolutely no idea why.
