Dita Von Teese at the DIC Diamond Dinner: fabulous or fabulous?

I'm erring on the side of "fabulous".

And this is my verdict on Dita Von Teese's latest red carpet outfit, for two reasons.

One, she looks like a ballerina.

Two, the dress isn't retro.

I sometimes get a little bored with Dita Von Whatsit's style because it's as if she's constantly at a fancy dress party, to which she's come dressed as Someone From The 1940s.

But while she's of course kept her hair and make-up in that style, this one-shouldered, sheer dress is a little, well, not 1940s. To which I say: hurrah for a breath of fresh fashion air.

Now, if only she could pull off a dress like Sharon Stone's.
