Amy Winehouse: isn't that iconic?

Isn't this a brilliant photo? Amy's having a bit of an amble in Regents Park, absently patting her beehive and working that Formula One neckerchief, granny bag and black pencil mini.

And someone's caught it on camera in a, like, toadly zeitgeisty moment.

She might have her issues, but ol' Wino is truly a style icon. She so clearly doesn't give a flying Sienna what might appear in the fash pages. I mean, can you see yourself settling down with your complementary latte and asking your stylist for 'a Winehouse'? 'Course not. On the rest of us it would look A) Try-hard and B) Rubbish.

There aren't many celebs who, like Amy, resolutely follow their own path. Selma Blair, Chloe Sevigny... And the only other Brit I can think of is Helena Bonham Carter, but hers is less a conscious anti-fash thing and more good old-fashioned posh-Brit barminess.

Wow. Amy Winehouse and Helena Bonham Carter: two sides of the same coin. Who'd have thought?
