Linda Evangelista hits London looking glamorous

Is it just me or have we been throwing out a number of old fashion rules this year? Mini skirts after 35? If you've got the pins, why not. Wearing black with navy? Linda Evangelista gave us the go ahead last night.

Is there a more credible source than one of the original supermodels?

The Canadian model was out in London last night to celebrate the switching on of the Christmas lights at Stella McCartney's Mayfair boutique. She paired a black headscarf and polo neck with a navy wool coat, proving that the age old rule should be thrown out for good. Black and navy? Why it's the new black on black! Note the addition of her pewter satin top. The key to going against the old fashion fashion grain here is to add in a metallic to complement the two dark hues.

So let's through caution to the wind and break a few rules. While we're at it, let's toss those wooly hats too. Yes, they're warm, but a headscarf is way more glamorous. And a wool winter hat is a little predictable in this weather isn't it?
