Cheryl Cole goes for gold at the Red Cross Ball

Girls Aloud starlet Cheryl Cole turned up to the Red Cross London Ball last night looking like a cross between a Roman goddess and a mermaid.

Her hair up in a double Alice band, Cheryl sashayed (and I think that's the only way you can possibly move in a dress like this) through the event in a halterneck gold chainmail frock.

Well, who doesn't? I've lost count of the number of times I've sashayed through an event in a halterneck gold chainmail dress.

Do you suppose Ashley was waiting for her outside on a white horse? Oh no, of course not. He was at the England game. Silly me!
