Celine Dion throws party for the Spice Girls

Looks like queen of the ballad, Celine Dion, is just as much of a Spice Girl fanatic as the rest of us.

Unlikely I know, but word on the grapevine is that Celine is so thrilled the girls are kicking off their world tour on Sunday in Vancouver (in her native Canada), that she’s throwing them a welcome bash.

Apparently the party will have a Canadian theme, and although it’s sure to be a sophisticated gathering, I’m personally imagining Victoria Beckham coming as a bottle of maple syrup and Mel B disguised as a beaver.

Talking of Mel B, a rumour doing the rounds at the moment is that Scary spice is using the tour to pave the way for another stab at a solo career.

Hmmm, you might have done well on Dancing with the stars Mel but let’s not do anything rash, don’t you remember the last time?
