Cate Blanchett looks yummy

Trust Cate Blanchett to inject a little glamour into any festival!

Here she is onstage at the Toronto International Film Festival last night - with the dashing Clive Owen - for the cast introductions before the worldwide premiere screening of their new film, Elizabeth: The Golden Age. And she was definitely the star of the show.

Cate wore a floorlength black gown with cap sleeves and an unusual angular detail on the bodice in red and purple.The red/purple theme was continued as the dress flowed into bold bands of coloured silk around the skirt. In fact with those big stripes, Cate reminded me of a very classy human version of the rocket lolly: she certainly looked good enough to eat! (boom, boom!).
